Ingredients:
5 apples - peeled, cored and sliced
2/3 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup rolled oats
pinch salt
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Place the apples in an 8x8" baking dish. Pour the maple syrup over the apples. In a bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar. Stir in the flour, salt and oats. Sprinkle the oat mixture over the apples. Bake in a preheated oven for 35 minutes, until the top is golden and bubbly and apples are tender.
NOTE: This is a good recipe to use when you have ripe apples in the fall [autumn].
Yield: 9 servings
COMMENTS: I like apple crumble much more than apple pie so I will probably make this again at some point. To be honest it has been a while since I made any crumbles. :)
