Ingredients:
1 egg yolk
1/4 teaspoon water
food colouring
assorted cookie shapers
bake either sugar cookies, or shortbread cookies or peanut butter cookies [or all three] and make them according to instructions
new paint brushes [the cheap kind is fine in package of 10 or 12]
Instructions:
Mix yolk & water by beating them together. Divide into custard cups or any other small dishes and add the colours you have selected to colour the cookies with e.g. red, pink, blue, yellow, green, purple, etc.
Use a different paint brush for each colour and let the children paint on the shaped cookies with the colours of their choice. Let them dry for about an hour.
If you have a couple of children and feel you need to make more 'paint' then by all means do so but make each batch of 'paint' according the instructions above.
COMMENTS: This is a lot of fun for the children and you can do this on any special occassion [Christmas, Easter, Hunnakah] or just for fun on a rainy or cold day. Even small children can do this I know my kids loved it when they were little.
